What is NetWork Kansas?

NetWork Kansas develops an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Kansas that connects aspiring, emerging, and established businesses to a wide network of business-building resource organizations across the state. NetWork Kansas provides small businesses and entrepreneurs with free, easy access to the resources they need to succeed.

NetWork Kansas also works with communities through its Entrepreneurship (E-) Community Partnership to create local, sustainable funding programs as well as creating a virtual network of expertise and educational resources for entrepreneurs at the local level.

NetWork Kansas E-Community Summary

Garnett/Anderson County, a NetWork Kansas Entrepreneurship Community has made a commitment to cultivating an entrepreneurial environment by identifying and developing resources to help local entrepreneurs start or grow businesses. An E-Community has a locally-controlled loan fund to assist entrepreneurs with capital and connectivity to resources to assist entrepreneurs and small businesses.

2012 Summer Youth Employment Program for Anderson County Businesses

GARNETT: The Anderson County Development Agency announces that applications are currently being considered for the 2012 Summer Youth Employment Program. Application received under this program are by local businesses and industries located in Anderson County who are interested in hiring area youth. Deadline for submission is THURSDAY, April 12, 2012.

The Summer Youth Employment Program is geared toward assisting local business and industry with the initial cost of training entry-level positions. The Anderson County Development Agency (ACDA) will reimburse the employer for the first $3.65/hour of a qualified entry-level employee's salary for up to 20 hours per week, for a maximum of 8 weeks. The business will agree to pay at least another $3.60/hour for that period for a total of at least $7.25 per hour. Program reserved for businesses located in Anderson County only. The youth to be employed must be a new hire.

The program has funding for a maximum of 5 positions. The Youth Summer Employment Program is designated for youths between the ages of 16 and 21, and they must be a resident of Anderson County.

All businesses are encouraged to apply. However, priority will be given to first time applicants.
